BERKELEY
This album is an extended tribute to the wonderful place that is Berkeley, California.
Improvised between September 17th and October 29th of 2016, the instrumentals depict natural settings, urban cityscapes, tranquil suburban areas, landscaped parks and gardens, and waterside environments.
The instrumentation for the album was decided ahead of time, with each track featuring one synthesizer, one bass, and one drum set although in the end a quarter of the tracks are without percussion.
All music was improvised as a single take for each instrument, with only minor arrangement made to some pieces in the way of extending them by repeating certain passages.
